About Carol Man
I am the founder of My Yoga Essence, a certified Yoga Teacher, Yoga Therapist, Meditation Teacher and an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant.
This is how my journey unfolded into who I have become… I began my yoga journey in 2005, initially to release my neck and back pain from the corporate world which may sound familiar to many of you. Spending long hours in front of the computer, which not only tightened every part of my body, but my brain was drained from constant interaction with the computer. I remembered my favourite parts of my corporate life was taking tea/toilet breaks and going for a nice walk on my lunch break. What drove my motivation everyday was going to my yoga and dance classes after work, as it instantly made me felt like a human being again!
After consistently practicing yoga for about a year or so, I noticed something in me have changed. Not only did tension started to dissolve from my body, but I began to replace my old habit patterns with new positive ones. I was also aware of my usual “monkey mind” has slowed down and became more calm, grounded and connected to who I am.
Over several years, my connection with myself grew stronger which made me understand what the bigger picture of life meant to me… health is the essence of life. This was the changing moment of my life! I was naturally drawn to natural therapy and studied Ayurveda followed by Yoga, this was where it all happened and I never looked back.
Now with over 1000 hours of training with renowned international teachers (Vasant Lad, Mark Whitwell, Jo Phee, Tiffany Cruikshank and many other great teachers who lit up my path). My experience with my teachers have enriched so many levels of my life as a being and as a teacher. My passion is teaching slow and mindfulness Yoga in the forms of Vinyasa, Hatha, Myofascial Release and Yin as well as Meditation… a body, mind, spirit integrated practice that is motivating, engaging and therapeutic. I also combine the ancient healing tradition of Ayurveda into my teaching that allows me to find a practice that adapts to the individuality.
Through my practice, my teachers and my teaching experience, it allows me to create a safe space and support you to explore a practice that adapt to your physical, mental and emotional needs for self-healing and transformation. I am so excited to be working with you!
